How to play
- Hold the cookie in the center of the screen for 720 milliseconds to crack it open.
- Read the sarcastic fortune slip that appears, then swipe it away to reset the cookie.
- Triple-tap the screen within 430 milliseconds to toggle the dark Incognito Mode at the bar.
- Tap the right side of the screen past 68 percent width to visit the park.
- Hold the sleeping tree to wake it up, and press it again to annoy it.

Scroll-Breaker Fortunes is an interactive experience where you crack open a digital fortune cookie to read witty messages about your screen time. The core loop involves holding the cookie to break it, reading one of forty standard fortunes, and swiping the slip away to reset. You can also triple-tap to enter the dimly lit bar for twenty-five incognito mode messages, or tap the right side of the screen to visit a park and wake a sleeping tree.
Tips
- You must wait 380 milliseconds between cookie cracks and 260 milliseconds between tree presses before the game registers your next input.
- The fortune slip can only be swiped away once its reveal animation passes 78 percent completion, so wait a moment before dragging.
- If you press the tree in the park two or more times, its expression changes to annoyed and it tells you to go outside.
Questions
How many different fortunes are in the game?
There are 40 standard fortunes in the cafe area and 25 unique incognito fortunes in the bar area. Once you see them all, you get a final message saying you ate all the cookies.
How do I access the different areas?
Tap past 68 percent of the screen width to enter the park. To access the bar, triple-tap the screen within 430 milliseconds to activate Incognito Mode and change the background and music.
Why won't the fortune slip swipe away?
The slip cannot be discarded until the reveal animation is at least 78 percent complete. Wait a fraction of a second after the cookie opens before trying to swipe it off the screen.
